Riga – Otepää – Tartu – Tallinn

Juli 27-31, 2024

As the saying goes: “Firstly, things turn out differently than you think” – a phrase that actually always applies to individual cycle tours. So you shouldn’t plan too much in advance except for the key dates such as departure, ‘must-sees’ and perhaps arrival, as the need for flexible adjustments always arises en route; hence not really surprising on my trip, as you can see from the previous reports.

Of course, I hadn’t planned for the weather to take such an unexpected and almost dramatic turn, leading to further changes to my planned itinerary. It’s just a shame that it affects the period planned for Estonia of all places, because I was really looking forward to Lake Peipus and the northern Baltic coast of the country, as there is, especially in the first part, still an almost unspoilt way of life and Estonian traditions to be discovered. So there is still a need for another plan for a trip to the Baltics. The region is definitely worth it and I’m keen to do it too! To be continued …!?
