Christmas at home?

The terrible events in the Gaza Strip not only made us leave Israel and enter Jordan earlier, but also led to fundamental considerations about continuing our tour. The brief thought of cancelling our tour completely was quickly dismissed. Apart from safety, health aspects were also in the foreground.

We had to realise that the heat with temperatures between 35 and 40° C in combination with the physical exertion of cycling through demanding topography would affect us more than expected if we did not have the protection of shady places as we had during the heat wave in Serbia weeks ago. The health risk of cycling 2,500 km through Saudi Arabia without the possibility of avoiding these conditions seemed too great for us. So we revised our travel plans again.
