At the beginning of the summer month of July, I set off once again on my trekking bike, unfortunately without Astrid, but as usual with a tent, sleeping bag and stove, to visit my son Martin and his family in Helsinki. For the third time, the planned route, starting in Szczecin, takes me through Poland and the Baltic States, but this time not along the picturesque Baltic coast, but through the interior of the country. Because there are new things to discover, such as the Polish capital Warsaw, the Lithuanian cities of Kaunas and Vilnius, or Tartu and Lake Peipus in Estonia. A comfortable schedule of around a month for the approximately 2,200 km should not only allow for a family meeting, but also a long-term reunion with old and new friends in Warsaw, Otepää and Helsinki.
