Hi, I’m Herbert …
… initially born in Thuringia I lived in beautiful Bavaria‘s countryside for 25 years, and have now been drawn back to the city. Cologne is my hometown since 2015 and I love this city.
I am a bicycle traveller and camping enthusiast, a sea air addict, a nature lover and in love with the world – it doesn’t always have to be far away. So I prefer to travel with my bike, tent and my darling Herbert. Just have a look at my Homepage.

Apart from hiking, there is no more environmentally friendly travel than moving forward on two wheels with your own muscle power – for me the most beautiful way to travel.
… in 1945 I saw the light of day in Cologne, Germany, and at the age of twelve I began traveling abroad independently of my parents.
The resulting passion for alternative, individual travel has continued well into retirement and has so far culminated 2011/12 in the longest of my bike treks along the Silk Road to Singapore – more about that and my other cycling adventures on my Homepage.
In 2001 I met Astrid and was able to successfully awaken her already dormant enthusiasm for bicycle touring.
In addition, I am an active hobby jazz musician, an enthusiastic skier and a proud family father and grandpa.
